We and colleagues will conduct two on-line training classes associated with professional society meetings in August, 2022.

Uta Berger, Volker Grimm, and Steve Railsback will conduct a one-day course Introduction to Individual-based Modeling: Concepts, Theory, and Software as part of the joint meeting of the Ecological Society of America and Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution. The course will be on-line, and is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, 14 August 2022. Information on the meeting is at: https://www.esa.org/montreal2022/.

Steve Railsback and Bret Harvey will present a full-day class on their InSTREAM and InSALMO trout and salmon models, on Sunday, 21 August 2022. These models are designed to support river management decisions by predicting effects of flows, temperatures, habitat modifications, etc., on fish populations. They also are very useful as virtual ecosystems in which to develop and test ecological theory. This class is associated with the annual American Fisheries Society meeting, but may be available to people not registered for the conference. Information on the conference is at: https://afsannualmeeting.fisheries.org/.
